Raymond was elected to the board in May of 2021 and brought with him, his passion to find the best opportunities for māori across Aotearoa.

Raymond was a visionary for Māori technology and sciences. He was also a humanitarian and a man of God. He wanted the best for our Māori people and humanity. He sincerely believed that education through our sciences could bring people closer together. He promoted disruption in technology and advocated for the highest levels of excellence. This is well recognised with efforts in his most recent involvement with Hei Whiringa Charitable Trust, an international technology enterprise that is working to promote a decentralised platform for indigenous and impoverished communities worldwide.

An ex-military officer in the NZ Army for over 20 years, Ray was able to understand and articulate and solve even the most complex of challenges.

Rays love for his children, family and friends was constant and unwavering.  Ray shared with and taught the many who were privileged to be in his presence. We are on the journey to honor his memory as a trust and whānau.

Ka nui te mihi aroha ki a koē e te rangatira, moe mai ra, haere atu ra.
